Overview
The Pálava Tour is a short escape built for riders who want maximum experience in minimal time. By including a relaxed arrival day, the tour removes time pressure from the outset, allowing guests to settle in, prepare their bikes, and ease into the rhythm of South Moravia. Rather than rushing straight into the saddle, riders begin the journey rested, present, and ready to enjoy what lies ahead.
Over three days of cycling, the tour explores the most distinctive elements of the Pálava landscape — lakeside paths, open farmland, rolling vineyards, limestone hills and a series of characterful wine villages. The scenery changes frequently, keeping each day visually engaging and rewarding without requiring long or demanding distances. Routes are carefully balanced to offer variety while remaining approachable, making the experience feel adventurous but never overwhelming.
This is a playful tour by design. The riding is engaging without being demanding, encouraging a sociable pace and plenty of interaction along the way. Routes are planned to pass naturally through areas rich in cafés, wine cellars and local restaurants, giving guests frequent opportunities to pause, explore and enjoy the region at their own pace. Food and wine moments are not prescribed or packaged, but discovered organically, allowing each group — and each rider — to shape their own experience.
The journey concludes in the Valtice area, one of South Moravia’s most celebrated wine destinations. This final setting provides a fitting place to unwind, reflect on the ride and celebrate the journey, while also offering flexibility for onward travel or the option to extend a stay and continue exploring the region.

Brno’s cafés, historic centre and relaxed atmosphere provide an ideal introduction to the region. A relaxed start that removes pressure and sets you up well for the days ahead.
Day 2 — Lakeside paths and vineyard country (Approx. 60 km)
The first ride follows flat, well-established cycling paths through open landscapes and alongside water, offering an easy and enjoyable start. As the day unfolds, vineyards begin to dominate the scenery, introducing riders to the character of the region.
The pace is relaxed and confidence-building, with frequent opportunities to stop for coffee, refreshments and exploration before finishing the day surrounded by vines.
Day 3 — Hills, views and the heart of Pálava (Approx. 45 km)
This is the most scenic and varied day of the tour. The route weaves through historic wine towns and crosses the limestone hills that define the Pálava landscape. Short climbs are rewarded with expansive views across vineyards, lakes and rolling countryside.
A shorter distance allows time for photos, lunch stops and relaxed exploration, ending the day in a village deeply rooted in local wine culture.

While elevation is a useful data point, how it feels on the bike varies greatly from rider to rider. Factors such as bike choice (manual or e-bike), individual fitness, pacing and even the time of day all influence how elevation is experienced. For this reason, we avoid using simplified difficulty labels and instead provide clear information so you can judge what suits you best.
On the Pálava Tour, riders can expect a total elevation gain of approximately 800 metres across the full 160 km route. This averages around 250 - 300 metres per day, with the biggest climbs coming at the midpoint of the tour on day 3 as you cycle through the Pálava hills. The result is a journey offering a good blend of elevation to maximize your enjoyment during this fun-packed tour.
